We Love Parquet, Sydney’s leading parquetry specialists have now opened We Love Parquet-Mosman, a parquetry and hardwood floor showroom in the Myahgah Mews at Military Road. Ideally situated for residents and businesses on the North Shore, the location at Myahgah Mews, Shop 2, 559 Military Road is in the heart of the district’s heritage precinct.

Vibrant with restaurants and cafes, the Mews laneway has a distinct Parisian style, attracting people from all walks of life.

The store is a mini version of We Love Parquet’s flagship parquetry showroom on Macleay Street, Potts Point, which has become an integral part of the local community.

Exciting wood flooring in the area

Over the years we have done many wood floors, from Cremorne to Balgowlah to Castlecrag. Some were attractive and bold statement floors, where the clients had an idea in mind, and others were understated, calming and relaxing. The north has always been a great location for the recognition of parquet flooring as a premium flooring choice, and of experienced tradesmen.

Handcrafted parquetry panels

Both showrooms feature an impressive range of handcrafted parquetry panels, offering a tangible experience of the appeal of parquetry flooring so visitors can see how it will look in their new residence or renovation.

With modern parquetry designs from the popular chevron and herringbone to classic blocks of French traditional patterns, the showroom is where you will find the perfect pattern for your floor.

The panels are crafted in Australian hardwoods from blackbutt to jarrah, Tasmanian oak to spotted gum as well as a range of European oak in a myriad of elegant finishes and tones.

In the heart of Mosman’s heritage precinct

The Mosman showroom of We Love Parquet is right at home in the heritage precinct of Military Road where the range of architecture in the district is reflected in the distinctive and diverse streetscape.

Many of the projects completed by We Love Parquet have been restorations in important heritage buildings, including Deltroit Station, Boomerang House and the Commonwealth Bank building in Martin Place.

‘We chose to open a showroom at Mosman as it is a unique precinct,’ says Ivan. ‘Our location at 559 Military Road is in a group of six buildings that are part of Mosman’s Military Road Heritage Conservation area.’

There are around 500 heritage items and archaeological sites and 13 Heritage Conservation Areas listed in Mosman, indicative of the suburb’s importance to the landscape of Sydney as a whole.

Military Road – as its name suggests – has been the main thoroughfare to a major defence post in Sydney Harbour since 1801 as well as the centre of retail and commercial activity in the suburb.

Buildings and items of historical significance in close proximity are on the State Heritage List, with a cluster of significant locations in Myahgah Road. Among them are the famous Allan Border Oval, and the architecturally significant Art Gallery and Community Centre (the former Mosman Methodist Church).
